Includes 5 day workshop, slide show presentation, instruction, supplies and firings. Monday: Handbuilding demonstrations and individual work Tuesday: Hands on instruction and finishing of pieces to fire Wednesday: Excursion Thursday: Glazing demo and individual work Friday: Raku firing and end of workshop
The workshop portion of the trip will be held in the small town of Llers, Spain at the School and Studio of Ramon Fort and his wife Anna. Ramon has opened his studio to students from all over the world and will work with Candone to give you an inspirational and productive workshop. Ramon has recently published "El Torno, giro a giro" which is a instructional book on the art of throwing. -El Moli hotel or similar, lying in the very heart of D'Empordà by the Muga river amidst cornfields and olive groves, has been set up by Lladó family. An ancient mill, which goes back to the XVIIth century. Rates from $125-225.00/night
-Can Cabano, a beautifully renovated house in Llers, just minutes away from the studio. Sleeps 8 (two queen beds and four singles) two bath, kitchen, dining room and tv area. Prices approx. $1200/week before spli
-We also offer a more economical dorm like accommodation which is at the studio, where there are two rooms with five single beds each. This is ideal for college kids or youth groups. Breakfast is not included, but there is a full kitchen that can be used by the participants. 125/week per person with breakfast.
The hands on workshop will last for five days. Candone Wharton will share her extensive range of tricks and techniques, in addition to her abundant knowledge of the Raku firing process. All materials, firings and instruction will be included and the pieces that you produce are yours to keep. A light lunch will be included during workshop days.
